Hi, hello, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Ashley, the planner behind Events by Ashley Dawn. I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself and tell you a little more about me. As a wedding planner, I walk through every step of the planning process with my couples, which means we often end up spending a lot of time together both leading up to the wedding and on the day-of. One of my favorite parts of this job is connecting with couples and their families and forming friendships that last long after the big day! With that in mind, I thought I’d share a few fun facts about myself.
- I graduated from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) with a degree in Marketing and Communication Studies. In 2016, I decided to take a leap of faith and leave my hometown in North Texas to attend a school where I didn’t know anyone. It was scary at first, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I loved my classes, and I met some of my best friends, including my husband!
- My husband, Chase, and I got married in May 2021. We currently live in Huntsville, Alabama with our dog, Ivy. Chase is my biggest supporter in everything I do, and he has cheered me on throughout this planning journey. He’s even stepped in as an assistant on wedding days, helping to direct vendors, set up décor, and ensure our couples are fed, hydrated, and having fun.
- I love to travel, and my favorite thing to do when I visit a new city is go on a food tour to try all of the best restaurants and coffee shops. It will come as no surprise that I meticulously plan out my trips with extensive research, itineraries, and packing lists. Some of my favorite places I’ve visited are Rome, Charleston, and Edinburgh!
- I have a major sweet tooth! Ice cream is my all-time favorite, but I won’t turn down a cookie, brownie, or slice of cake. I also love to bake and try new recipes. Growing up, my mom and I would spend hours baking all kinds of desserts together, and we always had the best time. We still bake together during the holidays, and
- I love a good personality test. One of my biggest takeaways from my communications classes in college was to learn to meet people where they are, and that requires a deeper understanding of their motivations, needs, and personalities. For anyone curious, I’m an Enneagram Type 9, The Peacemaker, and an INFJ, The Advocate.
